“BIG” in India, is a partnership between the International “BIG Shopping Centres” and BIG Mauritius holdings, a SPV in Mauritius wholly owned by Lehman Brothers real estate private equity business. In 1994, Yehuda Naftali, a pioneer in introducing the “Power Centre / Open Mall “ concept in Israel, founded the first BIG Shopping Centre in Israel – BIG’s Retail space portfolio in Israel extends to about 2 million Sq ft…. with an additional 2 million Sq ft under development. BIG plans to roll-out about 60 centres in India within 10 years, initially starting from Thane, Bangalore, Vadodara, Bhopal, Indore, Nagpur and Pune, covering retail space offerings of about 24 million sq.ft.
